overkill with 2 front axles.

I think you may need more axles, especially steered ones.

more = better, right?

For when three steered axles aren’t enough.

Axles were going cheap when they designed that. Same with steering gear.

Looks like a coach Lady Penelope would drive with those two front axles!

I’m glad Neoplan built these things tbh, I’m not aware of another manufacturer producing such a vehicle.

That means it’s at least 30 years old. Didn’t know that buses were eligible for the historic registration.

Almost as good as the McDonald’s bus if not better.

Im only seeing this now! For no particular reason I spent quite a lot of time two weeks ago or so to research all kinds of coaches from the last 30ish years. The Neoplan Megaliner and both Starliner generations might be my favorite designs of them all. Great looking buses! Here’s an interesting video that shows how well a 4 axle bus can handle tight turns if it has to, pretty crazy actually:

I really like Neoplan designs too. The history of Neoplan and their innovations is also quite interesting, I binge watched their old promo videos on youtube lol. Too bad that the MAN ownership didn’t really do anything from what I’ve observed. ThaT four axle Megaliner is so obscure, I love it. Neoplan even offered a version for public transit dubbed the Metroliner. Chemnitz had one in use until 2004 afaik.
